I love traveling, fashion, photography, art, and anything French, vintage, shabby chic, or from Anthropologie. I love independent films, impromptu/acoustic live music performances, London, being a girl, and being with friends. And this is me sharing all that with you :)

So, back to South Dakota…

We drove across the state from Sioux Falls to the Black Hills.

We got stuck in an intense hail storm in the hills on the way to the Crazy Horse Memorial and couldn’t get up close, but the Native American art and artifacts inside were beautiful.

Here’s the story:

Crazy Horse was a Lakota leader who defended his culture, land and way of life.  The memorial’s purpose is the same.  A worker at Mount Rushmore was approached by the Lakota Chief to create a memorial for Native Americans.  When it is complete, it could become the world’s largest sculpture- Mount Rushmore will be able to fit on Crazy Horse’s forearm.
